Cubs apologize to Victorino for shower (AP)

The chairman of the Chicago Cubs apologized in person to Philadelphia star Shane Victorino on Thursday, a day after the center fielder was showered with beer at Wrigley Field. A man in the bleachers threw a cup of beer on Victorino as he was catching a fly ball in the Phillies' 12-5 win Wednesday night.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer lashed out at team management Tuesday, saying he felt "misled" by the club and "disheartened" by its decision to demote him to the bullpen. Colorado Rockies center fielder Dexter Fowler was scheduled to have a precautionary MRI exam on his left knee after hurting himself in a win over the Chicago Cubs. The MRI was set for Tuesday. Tulowitzki hits for cycle, Rockies win (AP)

Troy Tulowitzki hit for the cycle and had a career-high seven RBIs to help Colorado beat the Chicago Cubs 11-5 on Monday night. Tulowitzki, who had a grand slam denied in the first video review at Coors Field, came to bat to lead off the seventh a triple shy of the franchise's fifth cycle and first in nine years.

Pedro to start Wednesday against Cubs (AP)

Pedro Martinez will make his return to the majors Wednesday when he starts for Philadelphia against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Monday that the three-time Cy Young winner will come off the 15-day disabled list. He finished up last season with the New York Mets.

Todd Helton had three hits to extended his hitting streak to 14 games, Dexter Fowler scored three times and the Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago Cubs 11-5 on Sunday. Carlos Gonzalez also had three hits for Colorado, which had 14 hits. Milton Bradley went 4-for-5 and Koyie Hill had three hits for the Cubs, who had a season-high 17 hits despite playing most of the game without manager Lou Piniella.
