Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez received a cortisone shot in his injured left shoulder Tuesday and hoped to be back in Chicago's lineup by Friday at the latest. Ramirez, who dislocated the shoulder May 8 and had been playing in pain since coming off the disabled list July 6, left Saturday's game in Colorado with soreness and hasn't played since.

Chicago Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez left the game in the fifth inning Saturday night against Colorado with soreness in his left shoulder. Jake Fox replaced Ramirez in the field in the bottom of the inning. Ramirez was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts. He also bobbled a hard grounder in the fourth, an error that contributed to a four-run inning for the Rockies.
