Mariners left-hander Erik Bedard is having another surgery on his throwing shoulder, all but ending his season and perhaps his time with Seattle. Manager Don Wakamatsu said Wednesday that Bedard will have exploratory surgery on Friday in Los Angeles with Dr. Lewis Yocum, who removed a cyst from Bedard's shoulder in September.

Since arriving in Seattle 18 months ago, Erik Bedard has been on and off the disabled list. He's been in and out of doctors offices and MRI machines. Now, he, his season and perhaps his tenure with the Mariners are in limbo. Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu said Friday the ailing ace has fraying in his pitching shoulder.

Seattle pitcher Erik Bedard has experienced soreness in his shoulder after Tuesday's bullpen session and will undergo another MRI exam. The soreness is a setback for the left-hander, who has been on the disabled list with left shoulder inflammation since July 26. Manager Don Wakamatsu said he would undergo an MRI exam on Friday in Seattle.
