Hideki Matsui and Jorge Posada hit back-to-back homers leading off the eighth inning and the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-5 on Tuesday night for their eighth win in nine games. Boston's Kevin Youkilis charged the mound after being hit with a pitch, throwing his helmet at Detroit pitcher Rick Porcello and tackling him before the benches and bullpens poured onto the field Tuesday night. Braves INF Infante comes off DL, starts (AP)
The Braves have activated infielder Omar Infante from the disabled list and put him in the starting lineup for the opener of a two-game series against the Washington Nationals. Infante had been out since May 20 with a broken left hand, the result of being hit by a pitch. He had a similar injury in 2008.
Aaron Boone back after heart surgery (AP)
Aaron Boone is back playing baseball, appearing in a minor league game in Texas less than five months after open-heart surgery. Boone batted second Monday night for the Corpus Christi Hooks, a Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. He swung at the first pitch and popped up to the first baseman in foul territory.
White Sox get Jays OF Rios off waivers (AP)
