Rios to make White Sox debut at Seattle (AP)

Alex Rios is debuting for the White Sox, rested and ready to jump into a playoff race. The two-time All-Star was in right field and batting third for Chicago's series finale at Seattle on Wednesday night. It's the first time in his 810-game career that Rios is playing for someone other than the Blue Jays.

Surging Braves end Nats' 8-game streak (AP)

Rookie Tommy Hanson struck out nine in 6 2-3 innings and the surging Atlanta Braves won again, routing the Nationals 8-1 to snap Washington's eight-game winning streak Tuesday night. The Braves have won four straight, six of seven and 16 of 25 since the All-Star break, a stretch that has made them a factor in the NL playoff race.
