Scott Feldman pitched six sharp innings and Josh Hamilton had four hits, including the go-ahead two-run double, leading the Texas Rangers to a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. Feldman (12-4) worked out of trouble several times after allowing a first-inning run in winning his third straight start.

CC Sabathia gave the Yankees a dominant performance that put them in position for a four-game sweep of the Red Sox. Carl Pavano tossed eight sharp innings and the Cleveland Indians routed the Detroit Tigers 11-1 on Sunday to win their weekend series against the AL Central leaders. Asdrubal Cabrera and Grady Sizemore each hit a two-run homer off Armando Galarraga (5-10) as Cleveland totaled 13 hits and won for the seventh time in 10 games.

Johan Santana threw seven sharp innings Thursday and the streaking New York Mets won their fifth straight game, beating the Colorado Rockies 7-0 in the opener of a day-night doubleheader. Santana (12-8) struck out eight and walked one in his first career outing against Colorado, allowing just four hits.

Cole Hamels gave up a home run to the second man he faced — Ryan Roberts, who has three career homers. "It was just kind of something unexpected," Hamels said. Hamels shook it off and dominated, allowing one run in eight innings as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 on Tuesday night.
