Scott Feldman pitched six sharp innings and Josh Hamilton had four hits, including the go-ahead two-run double, leading the Texas Rangers to a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. Feldman (12-4) worked out of trouble several times after allowing a first-inning run in winning his third straight start.

Rookie Tommy Hunter turned the shutout tables on the Cleveland Indians, pitching into the eighth inning to lead the Texas Rangers to a 5-0 victory Wednesday night. Hunter (5-2) gave up six hits and struck out five without a walk over a career-high 7 2-3 innings as the Rangers bounced back from a 5-0 loss to Cleveland on Tuesday with their league-leading eighth shutout.

Laffey pitches Indians past Rangers 5-0 (AP)

Aaron Laffey pitched effectively into the seventh inning to remain undefeated at home, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Texas Rangers 5-0 Tuesday night. The resurgent Indians improved to 13-6 since losing 21 of 28 from June 15 to July 19. Texas came in tied with Boston for the wild card lead in the AL, but fell to 3-5 in August.

Rangers 2B Kinsler to begin rehab stint (AP)

Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler, out since July 28 with a strained left hamstring, will begin a minor league rehabilitation assignment at Double-A Frisco on Wednesday. Kinsler, batting .242 with 23 homers and 63 RBIs, will play two games with Frisco. He is scheduled to rejoin the Rangers at home Friday when they open a series against Boston.

Jered Weaver pitched into the eighth inning for the first time in his last 10 starts and matched a career high with his second straight 11-strikeout performance, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 3-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday. Vladimir Guerrero and Erick Aybar homered for the Angels, who moved 4 1/2 games ahead of Texas in the AL West.

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton once again addressed his troubled history with alcohol abuse, after a Web site published photos of him cavorting with several scantily clad women in a bar last January. Hamilton created headlines last season with his inspired comeback from the depths of alcoholism and drug abuse to lead the major leagues in RBIs and nearly win the Home Run Derby.
